Super Bowl Sunday: (Feb 2nd) Super Bowl LIV will take place this Sunday starting at 6:30pm. The San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs will face off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. I am looking forward to the commercials & the Half-time show by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira who will also make a tribute to Kobe Bryant during the performance. Tune into Fox on Sunday night to see who will be named the next Super Bowl Champs. GO CHIEFS!!!
Puppy Bowl: (Feb 2nd) The Puppy Bowl will take place on Super Bowl Sunday, right before kickoff. Animal Planet will be hosting its 16th annual Puppy Bowl at 3 pm ET. For all my dog lovers out there, this is a segment you should watch. There will be 96 puppies from 61 different shelters across 25 states. There will be puppy games and different competitive shows. There will be a Team Ruff and a Team Fluff with awards of MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) title and the “Lombarky Trophy”. Be sure to watch out for a few puppies from the Philadelphia area. We have Treening Walker coonhound/boxer mix from Philly’s Morris Animal Refuge, Kingery an American/ Staffordshire terrier mix from Media’s Providence Animal Center and Linus who is a Pomeranian/miniature poodle mix from Marlton’s new Life Animal Rescue. They are all hoping to be adopted too!!
Kitten Bowl: Feb (2nd) The Kitten Bowl will take place right before the puppy bowl at 2pm, on the Hallmark Channel. This is the 7th annual Kitten Bowl, which has over 100 kittens in the competition this year. The kitten bowl is a competition followed by a championship game. Just like the puppy bowl, the kitten bowl will have the same concept, with kitten games and different kitten shows. You can even adopt one of the kittens featured! There is also a kitten from Philly who will be in the Kitten Bowl. Keep an eye out for Fruit Bat from Morris Animal Refuge, ready to take on all of the other kittens!
Groundhog Day: (Feb 2nd) Groundhog Day is this Sunday, which will let us know the forecast for the next few months. If the Punxatawney Phil sees his shadow, we’re in for six more weeks of winter. But if Phil does not see his shadow, that means we’re in for an early spring. Let’s hope for the latter. The weather looks to be pretty nice on Sunday so if you’re looking for a road trip, you can go to Punxsutawney PA and see Phil’s prognostication LIVE!
Of course, BEN-FM will be playing your soundtrack all weekend long (and supplying the tunes for your entire Punxatawney road trip if you stream us on your phone).
Have a GREAT weekend, whatever you plan on doing!!
~Abby
