Rod Stewart: Going Country?
Rod Stewart is certainly a versatile vocalist, but could a country album be on the way?
Stewart said in an interview with Rolling Stone, “I’m trying to put together a country record. Not just country music, but folk music and older stuff I was brought up on. It’s an opportunity to let people hear another side of me.”
Another reason Stewart is trying to do a country album? His wife, Penny Lancaster.
“One reason I want to do it is because my wife says she always loves it when I do my acoustic set in concert because she can really hear me sing as opposed to the rock & roll stuff,” said Stewart.
While we wait for this potential country LP, Stewart has a new album coming out November 22 called You’re In My Heart: Rod Stewart With The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The album is made up of reworked versions of his biggest hits with orchestral accompaniment and includes one new song, “Stop Loving Her Today.”
