Joe Walsh on Playing on Ringo Starr Cover of John Lennon Track ‘Grow Old with Me’
Joe Walsh is featured on, perhaps, the biggest highlight of Ringo Starr‘s new album, What’s My Name: A cover of John Lennon’s “Grow Old with Me,” which also features Paul McCartney.
Walsh, who’s also Starr’s brother-in-law, recalled recording the song in a new interview with Billboard saying, “Oh boy, that was great. It sounds just like the Beatles. At first I didn’t know what to do, but I think I really nailed it, and I’m so proud of it. I just thought, ‘What would George [Harrison] do?’ and went with that. It’s a real honor and privilege to be on a song like that.”
Walsh can be seen next at his third annual VetsAid, a concert benefiting charities and organizations that support veterans. The show is taking place on November 10 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. In addition to Walsh, the bill also features ZZ Top, The Doobie Brothers, Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley and Jason Isbell and the 40 Unit.
