Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Returning for Fox Debut of ‘Smackdown’
This is a big week for wrestling fans for multiple reasons, and it just got bigger thanks to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
“The Rock” announced he’ll be making an appearance on the premiere of of WWE’s Smackdown, which will air for the first time on Fox.
In a tweet featuring clip video, Johnson wrote, “FINALLY…I come back home to my @WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on @FOXTV. There’s no greater title than #ThePeoplesChamp. And there’s no place like home. Tequila on me after the show. #IfYaSmell #Smackdown #RocksShow #FOX”
The Fox premiere of Smackdown follows the season premiere of WWE’s Monday Night Raw. Also on tap for wrestling fans this week is the head-to-head Wednesday programming battle between WWE’s NXT on the USA Network and All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) Dynamite on TNT. AEW’s Dynamite marks the first time wrestling will air on TNT since 2001.
