Police Use AC/DC Track to Scare Bison Off Highway
First, it was Metallica used to scare off a cougar; now AC/DC is being used to get bison to scatter!
A Facebook post from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office in Montana has grabbed a lot of attention for how the force is using AC/DC’s “Hells Bells” when it comes to bison standing in the middle of local highways.
The post reads, “Being a deputy around West Yellowstone comes with unusual duties, including herding bison off the highway so no one gets hurt. When deputies respond to a bison on the road, they turn on lights and siren and encourage the animal to leave the road with an air horn. With a reluctant bison, they’ve been known to play AC/DC’s ‘Hells Bells’ over the speakers – that usually seems to work.”
Feelings aside about wild animals seemingly not being fans of hard rock/metal, you have to give the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office credit for finding a way to safely get a bison out of a highway. However, considering this situation, I almost wish “Highway to Hell” was used instead.
