The release date for Black Panther 2 has finally been announced, but fans excited for the sequel will have some serious waiting to do.
Confirmed at Disney's D23 Expo, Black Panther 2 will hit theaters May 6, 2022. Ryan Coogler, who directed Black Panther, has been tapped to direct the sequel.
Those wondering why there will be such a long wait, Coogler spoke at the Black Panther 2 announcement and said of the film, "We’re really hard at work on it, trying to give you something special. ... We just really want it to be right."
