The term “supergroup” gets bandied about at an almost reckless clip nowadays, but if these three musicians actually formed a group, a grander term would need to be invented.

Rudi Dolezal, a filmmaker who directed a number of Queen and Queen solo project music videos, recently gave an interview to the New York Post where he recalled a dinner party at Freddie Mercury’s home.  Among the guests that evening was Elton John and Rod Stewart, and according to Dolezal, “...There was a lot of bitching about other artists, and about themselves. I think Rod came up with the idea of forming a group called Nose, Teeth & Hair, because Rod had a big nose, Elton had problems with his hair and Freddie had his teeth!”

Sure, a new name would be in order, but the three of those talents together would have been utter magic!

More gems like this will likely be revealed in My Friend, Freddie, Dolezal’s new book that’s expected to be released in 2019.  Dolezal is also working on a new film, Freddie Mercury: In His Own Words, which will feature unedited archival footage of his own interviews with Mercury.  A tentative release date is not yet known at this time.
