Looks like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band won’t be hitting the road next year after all.

Tour buzz began to spread after Springsteen’s interview with U.K.’s Sunday Times that indicated a tour was coming “soon.”  However, The Boss has since released a statement bringing all of that buzz to a screeching halt.

“Just a note to quell some of the rumors over here on E Street.  While we hope to be back with you soon, the E Street Band won’t be touring in 2019,”  wrote Springsteen. “ Before I go back to my day job, the year will be consumed with a break after our Broadway run and various recording projects I’ve been working on.  We do hope to see you soon, and until then, we have some mighty E Streeters out there regularly performing with their own projects who’d love and deserve your support. All love and Happy Holidays!”

While this is certainly a bummer, at least Springsteen’s Netflix special will be hitting the streaming platform on December 16.  We’ll all have that to tide us over while we wait for a new tour.
