Steve Perry’s first new studio album in over two decades received a lot of love from fans, and the proof is on the Billboard 200 chart.

Per the Billboard Charts Twitter, Traces moved a combined 73,000 units its debut week, which will earn the album a spot at number six on the Billboard 200 album chart.  It also marks Perry’s first top ten debut in his career.


Perry took to his own Twitter account and delivered a heartfelt thanks to his friends by sharing, “All I was hoping for was someone to listen to the emotional expression of these new songs after my years of absence.  This has been beyond my wildest dreams, and I thank you all so very much.”

For anyone that was in dire need of a positive music news story today, it doesn’t get more uplifting than this!  Congrats to Steve Perry! We’re so happy you’re back!
