As I'm sure you’ve heard by now, Aretha Franklin died at 9:50 yesterday morning.

Well . . . apparently, two guys in a barbershop in Virginia heard about Aretha's death right after it happened, and they got into an argument about whether Halle Berry should play her in a movie about her life.

The argument got physical . . . and at 10:45 A.M., less than one hour after Aretha died, one of the guys SHOT the other one.

We're not sure who did the shooting . . . the "yes, Halle Berry should play her in a movie" guy or the "no, Halle Berry shouldn't play her in a movie" guy.

The guy who got shot was taken to the hospital, and the other guy was arrested.

As Aretha said: “Chain chain chain of fools.”
