Heart's Nancy Wilson takes her new band Roadcase Royale on the road tonight (September 12) for its biggest dates yet, opening for Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band starting in Rochester, N.Y., and continuing for the balance of his Runaway Train Tour.

Wilson tells us she's confident the pairing will prove to be a good combination:

"They might fall in love with us 'cause I think our two bands are really well-matched...He's got some rock and soul in his stuff, the way he sings. I think we're gonna match up nicely."

Wilson adds that she and Heart have some history with Seger dating back to the mid- and late-70s when both were at commercial peaks in their careers:

"There was a time, I think one of his big album release parties, some big city somewhere probably in the late 70s, I guess, way back in the midst of time. We were there and we were making the scene and Bob Seger asked me to dance at this great big sort of ballroom place. So I danced with Bob Seger and he was a very nice, very sweet man...It was sweet and it was kind of a thrill 'cause he's an incredible artist and he's written some really good songs."

Wilson and Roadcase Royale, which features members of Heart as well as Liv Warfield from Prince's New Power Generation, releases its debut album, First Things First, on September 22.
