Neil Young Announces New ‘Original Release Series’ Box Sets
Neil Young is dipping back into his archives and continuing his Original Release Series campaign with two new box sets.
Original Release Series 5-8 and Original Release Series 8.5-12 chronicles Young’s solo work from the mid to late 1970’s. (See breakdown of each box set below.) Each album in the sets has been remastered from their original analog master recording, and with only 3,000 copies of each box set available, these reissues are also pretty rare, too.
While the box sets are available on CD, audiophiles will be thrilled to know that each of the titles featured on Original Release Series 8.5-12 will be available individually on vinyl.
Adding this to the news that Young’s unreleased 1976 solo album Hitchhiker will be coming out September 8, and the last quart of 2017 is shaping up to be a big one for the Young catalog!
