Axl Rose and Billy Joel may seem like slightly strange musical bedfellows, but the two were on stage together over the weekend at Joel’s concert Friday (July 28) at Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
Rose and Guns N’ Roses were slated to play in Minneapolis on Sunday (July 30), and he used the night off to join Joel on stage for a rendition of AC/DC‘s “Highway To Hell” — which Rose, of course, sang many times last year while subbing for Brian Johnson in AC/DC.
It’s not Rose’s first guest spot with Joel, either; The two also performed “Highway To Hell” together during May at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
Rose is continuing GNR’s Not In This Lifetime Tour through the end of the year, while Joel’s next date is at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on August 11.
