The group closed the show by bringing out Noel Gallagher, the Oasis co-founder who's opening U2's European dates with his band the High Flying Birds, for a performance of Oasis' "Don't Look Back In Anger," with U2 frontman Bono dedicating the song to "the people of Manchester, Grenfell Tower, London Bridge," all sites of recent tragedies.
"Don't Look Back In Anger" has become an anthem for Manchester as the city recovers from a concert terrorist attack in May. "May you take this somewhere else, somewhere in the U.K." Bono said at the beginning of the song.
Gallagher will be with U2 on all of its European dates, as well as on shows in Mexico and South America during October/
...In other U2 news, Bono revealed during the London concert that bassist Adam Clayton and his wife are expecting a new baby (Clayton's second), and the group invited local first responders to attend one of the production rehearsals before the tour launch.
