Interviewing Alex’s Mom, Liz Scott ranks up there with one of the true honors of my 23-year (and counting) radio career. An extraordinary woman who understands a whole lot about turning lemons into lemonade – 10 years after losing her daughter, her passion for this cause shows no signs of stopping! The goal – “fighting childhood cancer, one cup at a time.”
I’m certain you’ve purchased a cup of lemonade at some point already but there’s a myriad of ways to show your support! How about riding toward a cure?
There’s a Lemon Ride this Sunday, July 20, 2014 7:00 am – 2:00 pm at Central Bucks – West, 375 West Court Street, Doylestown, PA 18901
The annual Lemon Ride is a fun way for cyclists of all abilities to support ALSF and the fight against childhood cancer….one mile at a time!
The Lemon Ride is a ride, not a race, and all cyclists are encouraged to participate. The Lemon Ride offers four different course lengths to suit cyclists of all ages and ability levels, including a 4-mile Family Fun Ride, a 12 mile ride, a 35 mile ride and a Metric Century (63 miles). All routes start and finish at Central Bucks West High School.
Advanced registration: Adults $70, children $35
Day of registration: Adults $90, children $50
In addition to the featured ride, the day consists of children’s activities, giveaways, raffles and (of course) a lemonade stand! Several hero families create teams to provide inspiration and signify the vital importance of raising funds and awareness of the disease. Lunch, snacks and a Lemon Ride water bottle is provided, as well as SAG support and rest stops throughout the ride.
