Woman of the Week originated as a column Marilyn wrote for Philly.com, then evolved into an on-air radio feature airing weekly on 95.7 BEN-FM, and has now transcended into a full 30-minute Public Affairs Show airing each Sunday at 6:30am on 95.7 BEN-FM. Lisa Hurly - Founder of Kidzfest - Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Saturday, September 20 is the date for the second annual Kidzfest -- which is taking place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Cooper River Stadium in Pennsauken, N.J.

Lisa Hurly says, "Kidzfest was created to honor her son Stephen Michael Hurly who passed away from heart disease and complications of premature birth at the age of five weeks old in 2003. Stephen was a beautiful baby and so full of life and love. In his short time here he taught us the meaning of hope and love."

Melanie Finley - Cancer survivor - Wednesday, September 17, 2008

Raised in Philadelphia and now 28 years old, last August Melanie was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. She went through 3 surgeries and chemo and thankfully is now in remission. Melanie started an Ovarian Cancer Foundation - The Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation

The goal of the foundation is to raise awareness about overian cancer to provide direct financial assistance for medial treatment for patients with ovarian cancer - more info at www.mfocf.com.
