More from Kim Fremont about Operation Warm

Listen..

Kim Fremont Fortunato, Esquire - President, Operation Warm - Wednesday, October 01, 2008

Operation Warm provides brand new winter coats for children in need through strategic partnerships with donors and community organizations.  This year they will mark 10 years of making sure children will stay warm this winter while waiting for the school bus, running family errands and more.  Their vision is that every child wearing a new winter coat is healthy, is able to attend school regularly, and has strong self-esteen.  A $ 15.00 donation will buy a brand new coat for a child in need.  Nearly 13 million children in the U.S. - 17% of all children live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level:  $ 20,650/year for a family of four.  Research shows that, on average, families need an income of about twice that level to cover basic expenses.  Using this standard, 39% of children live in low-income families.  Operation Warm has just launched a program called "Driving Away the Cold."  See how you help by logging onto www.operationwarm.org
